hello 2006

well, i believe most of you should know that i spent my new year's eve together with dear...
we met up rather late and an unexpected torrential rain ruined my NEW SHOES and led to an unprecedented visit to her house. =p

her dad is nothing short of amazing. he's expectionally good with performing calligraphy... no, his words aint the impressive part; he does stunts as he writes! my mouth was in a perfect O-shape as he performed for me:

writing two words with two brushes in a SINGLE hand; writing inverted words; writing while doing the splits; writing while balancing with his arms holding up one of his legs; writing with his feet; writing two words with both hands at the same time... the list goes on! his array of tricks really got me spell-bounded. but.....

nvm! main thing is, he's truly awesome and he's very friendly and funny too! =D

then we decided to go to tiong bahru to catch a movie, sadly the timings are not to our liking, so we took the shuttle bus to Plaza Singapura to gai-gai for a while before heading to Changi Airport for our dinner!

mmm... we had a serious talk during the trip. doubts were casted but reassured.
the future is ours to make k dear? =)

at the airport....

nice ambience, nice decor but..........

due to the over-whelming dinner crowd we had to go to Sakhothai Resturant to have our dinner! the food is not bad but the service is way way below our expectations!

the guy at the cashier was SO SOOOOOOooooooooooo slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww that he made everyone else look like superman. dont believe? check this photo out.

and the supposingly free-flow rice stopped flowing after our ONE and ONLY plate when we were informed of a severe rice-shortage! =(((

look at the waiter! he's holding the Goblet of Free-flowing Rice! but alas!!!! =(

so the famine resulted in a very sad boy and a fairly amused girl.... =x

but the prawns were really superb! very Q! and the curry aint too spicy much to the delight of dear... =)

following the dinner we hang around the airport...
and i decided we should emulate the ads!

no no.. the expression a lil' wrong. but she couldnt stop laughing! =p

darns! angle wrong! and the buttons wrong too!

ahhhhhhh..... BETTER! =D

you cant blame a bored couple for doing these! =p

the singaporean in me decided to buy 4d this weekend.

airline recepionist: "sorry sir, you have to proceed to the nest counter to make payment for the er.... erhem.... excess baggage on your midriff. thank you for your kind co-operation"

we witness a breach of National Security! look carefully at the guard on the extreme right in the picture! his right hand! he just finished sms-ing on his handphone.. i wonder what he wrote....................

"sugar baby..... i'm still struck patrolling the freaking airport. sigh.. on new year's eve! SIGH.. i miss youuuuuuuuuuu..."

or

"ah seng ah.. still drinking? nabeh~ how i wish i can be there! got girl-girl at the countdown not? heh heh heh... wah lau~ all old aunties here at the airport only leh.. ni nabeh~"

"mr bin laden. all clear. i'm bringing them out of your sight now."

after which we went to marina to join the count-down and, most importantly, catch the fireworks show! =)

for a moment i thought it is deepavali instead.

freaking crowded! =(

on our way there, i felt like an extra from the movie War Of The Worlds. it was so so chaotic!!! =(

my worst fears will be the breakout of a stampede. gosh.. i have never seen so many people at marina before. scary~ i keep hugging dear close to me and did whatever i can to protect her aginst the surging crowds.

look at the expressions of those in the background.. we're all wondering...
"WHEN WILL THE FREAKING FIREWORKS START?!"

we have to wait around 30minutes, for the fireworks, which seems like an eternity when you are sharing your air with some tens of thousands of sweating people who obviously tried to save on perfume and cologne despite not bathing.

finally..................!!!

they are beautiful to say the least.

i'm really glad i have the chance to spent the last few moments of 2005 and the first few of 2006 with a special girl.. she lit up my 2005 with her presence and looks to blow away my 2006! =)
