alright! i finally got the HEART2SHARE photos from gene! =)
but before i start to blog about it, i need to congratulate two people: GENE and WEELING for completing the Sundown Marathon 2008! =) Kudos to the both of them for braving 42.195km during the wee hours of the morning when i was busy dating jessica alba. well done you two! =D

i've done the marathon before so i know just how freaking crazy it can get, especially so when you people are running at almost semi-professional level! once again, congrats and well done! =D

and special mention goes to gene for his marked improvement of 4hours 4minutes marathon timing! =)

______________________________

in light of what happened in sichuan and myanmar, a group of friends and myself decided that we can do more than just feeling sorry for them! so HEART2SHARE was formed with Jiewen, Chailing, Gene and myself! =)

we took all our stuff and even accepted donation of items from friends and colleagues. all these are to be up for sale during a bazaar organised by Bishan East Zone 5 Resident's Committee on the 25th May, a beautiful sunday morning!

preparation work!

the day started on a rather quiet note due to its early timing. the bazaar was from 8am-12pm, a time where most girls are dating Brad Pitt and me with my jessica.

that's jiewen (in grey) and chailing! gene is the photographer.

not to mention that the demographics of the area is predominately the older generation, where abercrombies and m'phosis clothes don't exactly appeal to the majority. =x

still, we extended our appeals akin NKF-shows; waving placards showings the dire situations in disaster-ravaged places and shouting ourselves hoarse in a bad to attract more attention.

jiewen and me made the placards! difficult you know!

surprisingly, we managed to rake in a total of $270 within 3hours. a remarkable sum given the poor crowd size! =) we were all elated at the amount of money raised! =D

"i don't know how he got out! i really don't know!"

wong kar seng aka "mas-selemat-escape-relxed-announcement-maker" aka deputy prime minister came by our stall. we shamelessly asked him to show his support for this noble cause but he diplomatically (read: ridiculously fake smiles and ridiculously fake warmth) turned us down with a wave of "thank-you".

fake smiles galore!

french connection united kingdom you ah seng!
(i know there're political implications involved when it comes to ministers making purchase at stall during events. i just don't like him. period.)

i don't like politicians.

with our ah seng being the only blotch in our charity bazaar day. we truly had a great time. and it just feels good to do something good to help instead of the typical singaorean response of NATO (No Action Talk Only). =)

here you go, the team that made up HEART2SHARE! =)
and our hearts go out to all those affected in the disasters.
may you have the courage and strength to pick yourselves up again! =)

sidenote:
6months have passed since the tragic dragon boating accident.
hope you're resting well my friend.
