alcohol? er.. no thanks.

i went over to yueshan's place yesterday for a dinner. originally, we wanted to go for a 30min easy fat-burning run before the dinner but she wasn't feeling well so our weight-loss plan was placed on hold till she gets better.

months before, i remembered yueshan and her sister mentioning that as long as her dad offered me a glass of wine, my job is done when it comes to making a good impression, i.e. he likes me already. he had, on other occasions, made the offer of alcohol before but we never gotten around to actually drinking it.

yesterday, in high spirits, her dad offered lichun (crystal's boyfriend/husband-to-be) and myself a glass of wine each.

i'm fully aware of the fact that my body takes to alcohol like an infant would to melamine. nah, i will not meet the grim reaper after a couple of rounds, but it would most certainly result in a horrendous splitting headache.

however, there's no way i make such a horrible mistake of turning down that all important 1st glass of "father-in-law" wine right? after all, wine's fine! and healthy for the body in moderate amount.

granted that wine is already a form of luxury since the days of rome gladiators or a certain popular religion leader, its unique acquired taste had failed on numerous attempts to gain my approval. and there was no ground-shattering breakthrough yesterday either.

still, i managed to down my all-important "first" glass of wine happily. perhaps a little too happily as i was quickly offered another glass of alcohol - Bombay Sapphire. despite my, albeit a lil' half-hearted, feeble and polite, attempts to thwart his offer, a glass of Bombay Sapphire on the rocks soon sat its ass in front of my face.

yueshan promptly took a swing off the offending glass, followed by a face of disgust i've never seen before on her. =s bad news for me.

not wanting to offend my future father-in-law, i obediently sip it. the infusion of 10 flower types and its relatively high alcohol content of 47+% took me by surprise. sweet, spicy and awful would be apt to describe it.

perhaps due to my intolerance of alcoholic, my abstinence from alcohol for the past 1 year and the mixture of 2 different types of alcohol, i was flushed and dizzy after just 2 glasses.

weak.

somehow or rather, i managed to drag my wobbly ass to mustafa shopping center to look for yueshan's handphone. in the end, she bought the same model as the one i gotten for my national service, which will see her through to the expiry of her contract where she'll get a new and MUCH better phone then.

after our shopping, i felt really awful and i know i need to get home fast before my stomach content threaten to see the light of this world. hurriedly, we halted our shopping trip (my apologies to lichun & crystal) and yueshan babysat me home. she even took the trouble to drive me home though she wasn't feelin well too. for that, i'm thankful and touched. =)

i kissed her goodbye and we hugged for the longest time before i groggily made my way home. i wanted initially to help my sister eliminate a fat-ass lizard in her room before headin for a hot shower. thankfully the lizard was ninja-trained and disappeared before i got home, if not i wonder how long and how much effort will an incapacitated me take to hunt down a puny-hidden-in-between-cracks creature.

somehow or rather, i managed to get myself bathed and changed before hitting the bed. made a quick call to my dearest girl, ensured that she's not running away with another guy and went off to for my winter slumber.

man, such a loser.
