NDU Appreciation Dinner 07
yup, today's my unit's appreciation dinner! it's at this Chinese restaurant called Imperial Garden (if i'm not wrong) which is located at the 2nd level of Yishun Safra. initially, i was kinda expecting a good buffet-style diiner, you know.. SAF where got money~~~?
little did i know it turn out to be a wedding-dinner-style 10-course dinner!!!
the food they serve is rather good (perhaps my assessment is tainted by the fact that all food taste good to hungry people) and there's also some "value-added" events:
there's a photo shoot station where they take a picture of you, and develop it in a "formal-neoprint" (without any fancy patterns, duh~) on the spot for you.
and also an artist nearby to draw a comical portrait of you...
both FREE! =)
AND
they hired 4girls dressed in a string bikini coupled with a skirt that cant be any shorter.
the girls aint exactly model-material. one of them even look like she's pulled from the nearby coffee-shop where she's supposed to be serving Tiger Beer to leering old men. which is not too far a description with regards to what they're doing at the dinner.
the older officers, and even the young ones, all turned into lecherous 'tiko"s preying on the scantily-dressed young girl. goodness, if their eye-balls have hands, we (the MPs) will have a helluva busy night arresting personnel for outrage of modesty.
when the dinner started, the dancers-cum-bikini-girls taking the cue from the music, begun their testosterone-charge dance routine resulting in the whole ballroom erupting in cat-calls and wolf-whistles. the audience participation was ample and no motivation was needed from the Emcee as the men joined in the foray. the dancers proceed to grind their bodies against some of the audience, which prompted a major commotion!
and i just realised i'm making the dinner sound like some mass orgy. =x which is, of course, not the case. but i'm just very embarrassed by the actions displayed by some of the senior officers. they sure are having fun yeah? i wonder how will their 12 or even 18year old children react upon seeing such incriminating behaviour from their fathers, i shall not even poach the topic of their wives.
anyway, the event soon turned "cleaned" as the dancers were done with their routine and ushered away. (we spotted one of them coming back, fully-dressed, to chat up with the younger and better-looking divers... i wonder....) we were soon treated to a performance by this drag-queen!!! my gosh... he sang and dance to this up-tempo hokkien song! due to the vigorous movement, one of his bra padding decided to take a breather and exposed itself to the glare of the outside world - US! so there it was, danging out of his skimpy costume while he continued to dance and sing.
it was the 6th dish.
i prompty lost my appetite.
also losing my 4D/TOTO luck for the next 2years.
afterwhich, we had our own version of Superstar, which was lamely named -- NDU Star. how original. only 5 finalists performed, 2 were rather good. i didnt stay long enough for the results.
to avoid the vast crowds, we left early. a pity i didnt have my camera to capture the sights at the dinner! oh well... use your IMAGINATION~
