owned.
disappointed in the result? yes.
disappointed in myself? no.
simply put, the rest of the teams are from track and field (the CCA itself) and i believe we finished top of the non-track & field teams. i was the 2nd runner for my team and i was the 2nd (or 3rd?) last runner to receive the baton from my 1st runner.
the moment i got the baton from kimberly (1st runner), i was completely in the "zone". the world went silent and all i could think of was to hunt down the front runners.
the leading pack started way ahead of me and i was on damage-control mode. managed to chase down 2/3 runners and that was it. we lost further ground with our 3rd runner.
though we were completely trashed and binned, the race was a really good experience for me. races never fail to humble me each time; from 100m to 42km. the lessons taken away from each taught me time and time again that i must constantly strive to push myself further. and harder.
there is no finishing line in life and in running.
and i still enjoy long runs more than sprints i guess.
to kimberly, roxanne and ahnun. we did good. =)
